The Big Race now costs $995 to enter and the cut off to finish is now 48 hours. This does not include the 3 100 mile finishes to even apply.
Me think there will be many a folk doing solos in 2011

Interesting info. Makes sense about the 48 hour cutoff. $1000 is definitely going to affect some people. I am getting concerned about the trend of the entry fees. WS is 400 now etc. I know the costs are rising, insurance and everything else. Seems like there is a chance that they are going to price some people out of running these races and that is a shame. I have said this before on another forum and didn't get much of a response...but I really hope there are race directors out there like Mike M and Stu G at the AO100 that put on a great race for the love of running and giving back to the running community. Entry fee for AO...free...fat ass style. Also Matt M for the great Wickham Park race. same thing. I hope there will be a trend toward those types of races.

I believe the wave is pushing to draw sponsers that will pay more, and reduce the people able to fork over crazy entry money >:(
