Blister Prevention
On page 70 of the Daus-Weber/Jones crewing guide, the enhanced lubricating method (lube plus toe socks) is discussed as the first choice for blister prevention because it "can work better than pre-taping the feet and is much less time-consuming..." while taping is the second method discussed.
Among those who have attempted or finished any Death Valley ultra, which method have you found to best prevent blisters?
Thanks,

Offhand (without looking at the book again) I'd say that the two are not mutually exclusive. My method of choice is to tape problem areas and then use Hydropel on the rest of the foot (plus Injinji sox.)

I also prefer the taping method, I can't stand having the gel on my feet. But my suggestion would be to start out with a couple small hikes, and try both or a combination of both methods and see what works for you. Then once you have something that works for you give Death Valley a try.
